Tim Hecker Tim Hecker Tim Hecker Music Producer (MP3 Downloads) Artist kranky
Canadian musician and sound artist Tim Hecker is one of the best known artists in experimental electronic music. Since 1996, he has produced a range of audio works for Kranky, Alien8, Mille Plateaux, and Room40. His early recordings appeared under the name Jetone, but he soon became known under his real name with albums such as 'Haunt Me' and 'Harmony In Ultraviolet'. 'Dropped Pianos' is somewhat of a companion piece to Tim Hecker's masterful 'Ravedeath, 1972' from earlier this year - nine piano sketches recorded in the album's preparation. Exploring more sombre moods and transparent instrumentation, 'Dropped Pianos' is a fantastic work in its own right however. Highly recommended.

Releasing this album 'Ravedeath, 1972' on Valentine's Day, enigmatic drone specialist Tim Hecker's uncanny knack for expressing contradictions in his music seems all the more poignant. Beauty in noise and serenity in chaos, a breathtaking album from a veritable master. Highly recommended.
