The tricky spelling of its name has not stopped BPitch Control to establish itself as one of the top brands for European techno: Founded by superstar DJ and producer Ellen Allien in East Berlin more than a decade ago, the label started out with a constant stream of beautifully designed releases, bridging the gaps between Techno, electro, IDM and pop music. Ever since scoring its first chart hit - TokTok & Soffy O.'s 'Missy Queen's Gonna Die' - the label has consistently gone from strength to strength, managing to establish quite a few of its home-grown artists in the jet set league of electronic music: Modeselektor, Paul Kalkbrenner, Sascha Funke, and of course label wner Ellen Allien herself.

Overshadowed by the tragic death of Telefon Tel Aviv member Charlie Cooper, 'Immolate Yourself', the group's debut full-length for Berlin's mighty BPitch Control label, was released at the beginning of 2009. Melancholy electro-pop grooves take a turn for a more rock and song-oriented approach on this fine album.
