Tracks like 'Rephase V', off their newest record 'ORCH.V' on Skam, perfectly exemplify Team Doyobi's playful yet articulate sound. The duo behind Manchester's experimental darlings Team Doyobi, Chris Gladwin and Alex Peverett, have been crafting fine electro since the mid nineties, and, amidst the backdrop of a musical genre in constant flux, the pair show no signs of becoming sonically irrelevant. Their music, inspired by old arcade games and movie soundtracks of the 70s and 80s, has been described as 8-bit and glitchy due to their use of a Commodore Amiga computer, among other old school pieces of gear.

Shed, A Made Up Sound, Cooly G, Deniz Kurtel
Not much shorter than usual, our July summary proves how much excellent music is being released in the formerly 'dead' summer season, including highlights that would be a crime to miss: Shed's eagerly expected third album, Deniz Kurtel's star-studded sophomore more...
Skam regulars Team Doyobi push forward with their fascination in excavating murky corners of their various computer soundcards. 8-bit chiptunes perhaps replaced with higher resolutions yet these twisted rhythmic jitters and cyber-mystical synthtopias are still the ingenious workings of the Team Doyobi brain.
