Long-standing member of Berlin's Hardwax posse, DJ Pete a.k.a. Substance started recording memorable abstract dub techno releases for Basic Channel offshoot Chain Reaction during the mid-90s, both alone and together with long-time friend and partner Vainqueur. Mostly responsible for a number of outstanding remixes in recent years - for Monolake, Tadeo, Rhythm & Sound and others - Pete and Vainqueur have started their own label in 2006, Scion Versions.
