Derived from Stefan Goldmann's commissioned ballet 'The Grand Hemiola', the title track sees dramatic orchestral and percussive fragments formed into winding complex rhythms. The remainder are excellent delicate and hypnotic rhythmical compositions, emphasizing the fine acoustic textures. Superb.

Usually known for his subtlety, Macro's Stefan Goldmann drops a techno bomb this time around. Maze's parts 1 and 2 are prime time jackers with distorted drums and equally grungy, free-styling synth lines. Part 3 complements this with some similarly styled, but beatless electro-acoustics.
