Originally founded by tech-punk maverick T.Raumschmiere, Shitkatapult appeared on the scene in 1999. Joined by Sascha Ring, better known as the amazing Apparat, and Daniel Meteo, the three have been running the label together ever since with ascending success. Graphics and such are handled by comrades in arms Carsten Aermes (a.k.a. Phon.o) and Alexander Solman (a.k.a. Cia-Industries). The electronic world has embraced Shitkatapult's long list of outstanding releases - from the innovative effusions of Apparat over the experimental soundscapes of T.Raumschmiere to the mutant tech-disco records from Das Bierbeben - and together with its associated labels Musick and Meteosound the Shitkatapult family is one of Germany's most established electronic music outlets.

The Album General Eclectics was reviewed:
Thomas Brinkmann revives his Soul Center alias for an album project for Shitkatapult, who are begging for a 'rude cover of the month' award with their packaging of 'General Eclectics'. Ten tracks combine Cologne shuffle-step grooves with genuine synth funk that lets those juices flow, erhm... Fine album!
