Paul Rose a.k.a. Scuba is one of the most notable artists boldly expanding the dubstep sound universe. His own productions as well as his label Hotflush Recordings regularly explore the tangents and off-roads of the style, incorporating influences like minimalist dubtechno or experimental percussionism. Scuba currently resides in Berlin and there is no denying a recent mutual influence between Rose and Berghain artists like Marcel Dettmann.

Selected as release of the week
A weighty addition to !K7's fabled DJ-Kicks series: With 32 tracks of techno/house/dubstep it's a fantastic package, boasting exclusives by Sigha, Addison Groove, Jon Convex, Boddika and Scuba himself, and it's also a great mix, actually slowing down instead of speeding up during its course. Essential.
