SBTRKT might be hiding his face behind a mask, but this hasn't stopped his meteoric rise in 2010, backed by releases on Ramp Recordings, its Brain Math subsidiary, most recently Glasgow's Numbers imprint, as well as remixes for Modeselektor, Little Dragon and many others. Recently outed as former BBE artist Aaron Jerome, his nu-jazz background can still be made out in his productions - albeit contrasted by some of the most advanced future r'n'b programming out there.

New sounds are taking over the airwaves: Old-school house chords, R&B vocals, and the light-footed grooves of UK garage are the ingredients that make up what some call UK funky, a style that's rapidly spreading from South London boroughs to Berlin techno clubs more...

SBTRKT seems to be all over the place these days, remixing artists from Basement Jaxx to Gorillaz and Modeselektor. '2020' is a monster of a release, bridging the gap between classic house and dubstep with loads of depths and awesome drum programming. Belongs in every record case!
