Also know as one half of Lazy Fat People, Raphaƫl Ripperton started his DJ career in 1993 and has since then done plenty of highly credited remixes for the likes of Shinedoe, Laurent Garnier, Beanfield, or Radio Slave, and released his productions on many renowned labels. Together with Sam K he has launched his own imprint in 2006, Perspectiv Records, which is dedicated to the Detroitish, deep and dreamy techno Ripperton has become famous for.

The Album Niwa was reviewed:
The debut full-length of Swiss producer Ripperton for Joris Voorn's Green label, 'Niwa' is a subtle and elaborate effort of superbly crafted house tunes. Sprinkled with touches of jazz, soul and dub, this is an incredibly varied album which begs to be played over and over. Addictive.
