Wald Entertainment, taking its name from the German word 'Wald' meaning forest, is Austria's latest foray into electronic music label-multitasking. While some labels choose to focus all of their resources on pushing one genre, Wald makes a hard, but well executed left turn into different territory, or, dare I say, an electronic forest. Genre descriptions on Wald's website list as follows: Electronic Bluegrass, Wald'n'Roll, Hawaiian Ghettotech, Wald Wonk and Death Country, and while I take it these descriptions are a touch tongue-and-cheek, what is clear is that Wald Entertainment and its artists want to mix it up, have fun and make music without limits. Artists on Wald Entertainment include Ritornell, Some Freak, Andreya Triana, Mimu, Patrick Pulsinger, Dorian Concept, Orakel, and Sam IRL.
