Downwards Records is the long-standing and somewhat legendary techno label of Karl O'Connor a.k.a. Regis and Peter Sutton a.k.a. Female. The two artists' vision of austere, industrial techno has, alongside the productions of label-mate Surgeon, served as an influential template for related projects such as Sandwell District and the entire style of dark, minimalistic dub techno.

Years 1997 - 1998 mark Regis' introduction of more minimalistic and subtle undertones into his hard-hitting techno style, most notable on the Female collaboration 'Guiltless' or the long-winding modulations of 'Right Side of Reason's two parts. Essential collection.
