Named after Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari's eponymous book, Mille Plateaux was originally founded by Force Inc's Achim Szepanski in 1993 and quickly became Germany's most influential label for experimental electronic music. In 2004 Mille Plateaux became insolvent due to the collapse of Germany's largest independent distributor EFA, and after a short-lived attempt to revive the label in 2006, Mille Plateaux is now in the hands of Marcus Gabler, who is bringing back the label in 2010 with new artists and a new edition of the label's famous 'Clicks & Cuts' series.
