Over the past few years the Sandwell District label has been a remarkable source of mesmerizing techno tracks. In times where every DJ and producer seems to be more concerned with self-promotion than the music itself, Sandwell's understated and low-key more...

Vidal and Vangelis Vargas' 'Raíz' EP was our favourite dub-techno release of the year, and Historia y Violencia's own Silent Servant adds even more punch to the slamming original. Its hypnotically pulsing chords and subtly grooving beat made this a sure-fire hit in 2010.

The EP Raíz (Silent Servant Mix) was reviewed:
Mind blowing exclusive dub-techno package by Vangelis and Vidal Vargas a.k.a. Raíz. The brothers' pounding original gets a rework by Historia Y Violencia's own Silent Servant, who adds slightly more upfront and shuffled 909-beats to the track's relentlessly driving chords. Killer release.
