Putsch '79 are Sami Liuski (a.k.a. Bangkok Impact) and Pauli Jylhänkangas, both born in the east-Finnish town of Sotkamo in the year... you guessed it, 1979. Nowadays Sami lives down at Helsinki and Pauli lives up in Sotkamo. Sami and Pauli have known each other since high school where they both got interested in electronic music. They started their musical careers by playing guitar and toying around with computer music software. They are all about warm grooving disco beats, throbbing basslines and smooth chords with influences from techno and house. To create a distinctive groove, a lot of the synthesizers are played live and the rhythms are laid down carefully with the little help of vintage effects. They also use sort of traditional live instruments in our music like bass guitar, percussions or some funky guitar riffs. Some of the contemporary artists Putsch '79 are influenced by are Chicken Lips, Metro Area, Daniel Wang, Daft Punk and Legowelt.
