Planetary Assault Systems Planetary Assault Systems Planetary Assault Systems Music Producer (MP3 Downloads) Artist Ostgut Ton
Planetary Assault Systems have been releasing spacious, outer galactic techno for more than fifteen 'earth' years now and show no signs of letting up. From the expansive tracks on 'Atomic Funkster' to the project joining the Ostgut Ton stable with 'Temporary Suspension', Planetary Assault System's brand of techno is a welcome assault on the auditory system. And in case you're wondering if Luke Slater is Planetary Assault Systems, we here at zero" have been informed by the Techno Bureau of Investigations, or T.B.I, that they are one and the same person, but from different dimensions...spooky.

Vladislav Delay, Madteo, Kris Wadsworth, Raime
In a month not short on excellent club-ready releases it was the wealth and quality of experimental electronica recordings that surprised us most. From Mouse on Mars' bastardly bass music mutations over the jazzy timbres of Nicolas Jaar's 'Don't Break My Love' more...

Chapter three of Luke Slater's Deep Heet series continues in a universe of its own. 'Voltan', inspired by the Mayan god of drums is a beastly fella of beautiful complexity, 'Pygar' bleeds in crystal melodies across huge expanses, 'Turn' and 'Flat Tire' in sharper focus with muted melodies and fragmented rhythms. Top grade.

Following up the first set of remixes of Luke Slater's seminal 'Function 4' from 2000 on Peacefrog, this second set sees further refractions. Two by Lucy, first revelling in new complexities and the second booting it in the bass regions, Marcel Dettman's dub adds creamy layers and Shifted nips and slices. Excellent.

Planetary Assault System's 'The Messenger' was an epic addition to the Ostgut catalogue late in 2011, now Silent Servant launches the low-end thumping 'Bell Blocker' into the cosmosphere, and The Black Dog imbue the dusky itching 'Beauty In the Fear' with a mincing tech-step.

Two producers from Techno's top tier, Marcel Dettman (Ostgut Ton) and Chris Liebing (CLR), take on Planetary Assault System aka Luke Slater's 'Function 4'. Dettman goes straight for the gut with his signature throbbing bass sound in contrast to Chris Liebing's comparably more upbeat groove.

More astounding intergalactic techno-shenanigans in the second volume of the 'Deep Heet' series. Taking techno back to its primal roots, 'Suktion' does just that in a punishing whirlwind vortex, 'Powwow' spirals over kicking entrancing motifs and 'Raid' is a menacing stealthy slow-burner. Surrender is the only option...

'Temporary Suspension' celebrates the return of Luke Slater's Planetary Assault Systems guise with ten pounding techno tracks, that alternate between punishingly heavy industrial slammers, and jacking old-school flavours.

Two mind-blowing remixes for Luke Slater's Planetary Assault Systems album, courtesy of Al Tourettes & Appleblim, who deliver a slightly broken version of 'X Speaks To X', and Deuce (a.k.a. Dettmann and Shed) contributing a stumbling, minimalistic take on 'Hold It'.

James Ruskin, Function & Jerome Sydenham step up to the plate to remix Luke Slater's most recent techno monster, 'GT'. Ruskin slurs the track's characteristic cowbells for a highly effective, minimalistic stomper, while Funtion and Sydenham deliver a slightly more classic techno take.
