Since the early 1990s Andy Turner and Ed Handley's production work has markedly influenced the development of electronica, ambient and 'intelligent techno' in the UK. The two have recorded solo under guises such as Atypic, Balil and Tura, further as members of The Black Dog's original line-up, yet their best known output has appeared under the Plaid alias: half a dozen albums and countless singles for seminal label Warp Records.

Selected as release of the week
The Editor, 1 year ago via zero-inch.com
Twenty years since their debut 'Mbuki Mvuki' in 1991, the London electronic duo return to Warp exploring sonic territories in their expert ever-futuristic, uncompromising style. Tracks like 'tender hooks' and 'african woods' shift and pulse with poppy hyperactivity, counter-balanced with epic ambient moments.
