One of the sleeper hits of the year and a masterpiece in restraint: Pirahnahead's 'Self Conscience' takes a full six minutes before letting loose its infectious hook-line in all its pizzicato glory. By that time however, everyone was already on their feet wherever this was dropped.

Long-standing Moodymann collaborator Pirahnahead strikes back with a great EP on Detroit's London outpost Third Ear Recordings: After his recent contributions to Trus'me's 'In The Red' album, he delivers four tracks of techno and acid infused house, reflective and kicking the same time. Excellent.
