London-born Peter Rehberg has been an integral part of the Viennese music scene since the mid-90s, co-running the
Mego label alongside Ramon Bauer and nowadays preserving the label's spirit and heritage through
Editions Mego. Rehberg, or
Pita to his friends, is no-one eager to please, but his productions of harsh, experimental soundscapes have nonetheless gained him international recognition, leading to high-profile collaborations with artists like
Jim O'Rourke or
Mika Vainio. In 1999 he received Prix Ars Electronica Distinction Award for Digital Musics, alongside
Christian Fennesz.
