Jochem Peteri started out recording - somewhat sporadically - for Dutch deep techno label Eevo Lute in the early 90s under the name Ross 154, later abbreviated to 154. Picking up music as a more serious vocation, Peteri changed his nom de guerre to Newworldaquarium in 2000 and started to develop an unmistakable sound of his own on numerous recordings for Delsin, Peacefrog, and most recently his own imprint NWAQ: Deep, super-slow grooves inspired by Detroit techno and classic house - perfectly represented on his highly acclaimed 2007 album 'The Dead Bears'.
