A fixture of the UK electronic music scene, Neil Landstrumm is known for his genre-defining productions since the early 1990s. Originally associated with the then booming 'Brighton school' of techno, alongside artists such as
Cristian Vogel and
Dave Tarrida, the scandinaviophile Scotsman first released his hard hitting, yet funky and reduced techno production via influential UK imprint
Peacefrog before signing with
Tresor in 1996 for his '
Understanding Disinformation' album. Known to take regular time-outs from music to pursue diverse creative interests, Landstrumm turned to the sound of grimy broken beats during the early 90s, joining the
Planet Mu camp for a string of releases which combined harsh 2-Step breaks with old-school rave references.
