Mugwump was initially started by Geoffroy Dewandeler together with Spirit Catcher and is now pursued with prolific producer extraordinaire Olivier Grégoire a.k.a. Kolombo. Together Geoffroy and Kolombo have managed to release on some of the biggest techno labels out there - R&S, Cocoon, Kompakt - while maintaining their left-field disco credibility with contributions for Eskimo or Permanent Vacation. The Mugwump sound is typically Belgian in its plead for a total dance fusion, with an emphasis on the groove and psychedelism and no restrain into the BPM choice. Mugwump fuse disco aesthetics with modern techno leanings, spiced up by a hint of Belgian New-Beat, and seem poised to take their place as the hottest Belgian dance export for years.
