It has taken Mount Kimbie only two EPs on Scuba's Hotflush label to set the electronic music world on fire with their distinct take on dubstep sounds. 'Maybes' and 'Sketch on Glass' incorporate influences from electronica and pop music, and have become emblematic for the recent stylistic breadth of dubstep. Their debut album 'Crooks & Lovers' takes this open-minded approach even further, even picking up influences guitar from guitar-based indie pop.

The radically reduced vocal pop of 'Carbonated' provided one of the stand-out moments on Mt. Kimbie's lovely debut album. Two new tracks, 'Flux' and 'Bave’s Chords' as well as great mixes by Airhead and Peter Van Hoesen round off this highly recommended EP on Hotflush Recordings.
