When Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson formed Minilogue they came from quite opposing backgrounds: Sebastian was trained as a classical musician playing the organ, piano and the violin among other instruments. He even became involved in teaching them until his coming of age at 18 when he formed a band and began experimenting with more contemporary sounds. His partner Marcus had lived on a diet of Kraftwerk and The Human League until realising his true calling in the techno parties of the 90s. Through promoting parties he moved on to become one of the better known DJs in Southern Sweden. It was at a party in their home town Malmö where the unlikely pair met and decided to combine Sebastian's musician's perspective with Marcus' DJ skills and experience from the scene. They got together in 1996 and after 10 years in the music business under successful guises such as Son Kite and Trimatic, Marcus & Sebastian are now Minilogue - an animalistic music concept without the boundaries of genres. Through the years their music has expanded and moved through a variety of sounds appealing across the board of electronic music. Their recent material touches on influences from an early 90s sound of electronica, filled with apocalyptic climaxes, warped and wondrous sounds creating textures with true depth and portraying a true sense of the duo's vision. They make music that is built for peak-time dance floors as well as laid-back listening, producing a sound that is industrial, vivid and continually provocative, and offering a reminder of the fundamental beauty and intricacy of true techno. Minilogue's music is playful, ambitious, simple and melancholic.

The Compilation Cocoon Compilation K
was reviewed:
The Cocoon stable still going strong keeping an eye on the techno house quality control, with 'Compilation K' they once more showcase their output. Opening with young talent David August, strong contributions from Matt John, Argy and Sascha Dive, Tom Trago, Butch and Minilogue deep and hypnotic. Sturdy.
