With a style that defies boundaries, Michna, or Adrian Michna (also known as DJ Egg Foo Young), is part hip hop, part experimental, part electro-funk, and part lo-fi, and his latest release 'Eggstra Ep' on Sam Valenti IV's Ghostly International consortium sees his unique free-form style return. Starting out as a DJ and then trombonist in a band playing the NYC bar circuit, Michna has had a healthy mixture of musical experiences to draw from. After moving to Miami from NYC in the mid-90s, he co-founded the Secret Frequency Crew whose specialty was mixing instrumental hip hop and electronic into a pleasing and coherent whole. The Crew's release, 'Miami Eyes,' became an underground hit and caught the attention of Diplo. The group then went on to produce their debut LP 'Forest of the Echo Downs' which ultimately put Michna on Ghostly International's radar and propelled his solo career.
