Of Chilean origin and currently commuting between Buenos Aires and Paris, Matias Aguayo is a true cosmopolitan. Living in Cologne in the early years of the millennium, Aguayo became known as part of successful minimal pop duo Closer Musik alongside Dirk Leyers. After Closer Musik disbanded after just two singles and one album, Aguayo returned to Cologne's Kompakt with a string of solo recordings, which uniquely combine elements percussive techno grooves and diverse pop music elements and vocals.

Aguayo follows up his 2009 'Ay Ay Ay' album. Beginning with 'Dance Machine' a cheeky disco rave-up, 'I Don't Smoke' is a catchy, Latino influenced electropop tune with Aguayo's charismatic charm and added health benefits, with kicking beat 'n bass workouts rounding up an exuberant EP. Excellent!
