Inspired by the house and techno DJs commanding the dance floor at the Bioxultra club in Gera, Germany, Mathias Kaden purchased his first turntables at the age of 14. Honing his mixing skills, his ear for crowd pleasing vinyl, and his intuition for knowing what the people want to hear and when they want to hear it, Kaden has proceeded, after years of practice, to exhibit his unique take on contemporary house and techno sounds, playing his scrupulously selected vinyl at the most prestigious international venues, such as Fabric, Rex Paris, the Sonar festival, and MUTEK. As a producer, Mathias has proven himself to be a creative force in the German electronic music scene as well, and his latest release on Grubenstrasse Zurich, 'GS04,' perfectly showcases his percussive talents. Whether it's in the form of percussive, tribal tech-house tracks through boutique labels like Vakant, or his dark and glitchy minimal work on the Wighnomy Brothers' Freude Am Tanzen imprint, Kaden's tracks are gliding effortlessly into all the right sets. Mathias is also the resident DJ of the well-known club Muna, and has been so for 7 years.

Jena's Mathias Kaden nailed it with his recent debut album 'Studio 10': Twelve modern house music tracks, alternating between minimalistic, dub-ladden and jazzy sounds. Featuring Ian Simmonds on vox and Wareika's Florian Schirmacher, this album is something both for the floor and the home stereo.
