Recording as Surphase as well as under his real name, Marko Fürstenberg has become one of Germany's most prominent producers of dub-inspired techno in recent years. Born in Thuringa, East-Germany, Fürstenberg started producing early tape demos under his Dolby guise, but it wasn't before hooking up with renowned netlabel Thinner in 2003 that Fürstenberg found his own language of musical expression: scarce, dubbed-out techno of almost austere beauty, which has since graced labels such as a.r.t.less, Echocord Colour, Rotary Cocktail, and most recently Swedish imprint Baum.
