Marco Passarani (a.k.a Passarani 2099, PSS2099 and Analog Fingerprints) is without a doubt one of most influential players in Italy's vast electronic music scene. He has started his career as a teenager, recording forAlan Oldham's legendary Detroit Techno label Generator as early as 1993. Founding his own label Nature Records Marco began releasing music by like-minded people such as D'Arcangelo or MAT-101 while his own music gradually developed a more experimental and musical edge - the highpoint of this period undoubtedly being his 2000 IDM album '6 Katun'. The last years have seen Marco gradually return to his roots, with his music incorporating more elements of of Italian Disco and classic Detroit Techno and taking on a warmer, more analogue and - above all - more danceable sound. The newly founded Pigna Records is as much a testament to this as his playful and highly acclaimed album 'Sullen Look' for Peacefrog.

Running Back continues to impress by consistently maintaining its high standard of quality with this solid release by Marco Passarani. The rubbery synths of 'Colliding Stars Pt. 1' are the stuff of disco dreams while the syrupy acid bass of 'Good Split' takes us to another world.
