Marco Passarani (a.k.a
Passarani 2099,
PSS2099 and
Analog Fingerprints) is without a doubt one of most influential players in Italy's vast electronic music scene. He has started his career as a teenager, recording for
Alan Oldham's legendary Detroit Techno label Generator as early as 1993.
Founding his own label
Nature Records Marco began releasing music by like-minded people such as
D'Arcangelo or
MAT-101 while his own music gradually developed a more experimental and musical edge - the highpoint of this period undoubtedly being his 2000 IDM album '
6 Katun'.
The last years have seen Marco gradually return to his roots, with his music incorporating more elements of of Italian Disco and classic Detroit Techno and taking on a warmer, more analogue and - above all - more danceable sound. The newly founded
Pigna Records is as much a testament to this as his playful and highly acclaimed album '
Sullen Look' for
Peacefrog.
