Magda is one of the most acclaimed DJs Richie Hawtin's Minus camp has given rise to in recent years. Born and raised in the Polish town of Zywiec, Magda's parents moved to the US when she was nine - first to Texas, then to Detroit, where one of Magda's revelatory musical experiences consisted of an early Plastikman live PA. Magda took up a job at famous record store Record Time, began organising a regular club night with Dan Bell and Claude Young as residents, and it wasn't before long that the two asked her to warm up for them. Inspired by her mother, who is an artist, she decided to study Graphic Design in New York state but soon realised music was the most natural medium of expression for her. Nevertheless, this abstract influence can still be found in her music production, juxtaposing warm, thick swathes of sound with jagged little hi hat patterns, sometimes lazy, sometimes clinical but always purposeful and expressive.

London's Fabric is more than just one of the world's most influential nightclubs. Over the past nine years Fabric has also become synonymous with the most celebrated series of DJ mixes in the field of electronic music.
To acknowledge the advent of yet more...
It wouldn't be Magda if her Fabric volume wasn't carefully constructed from a plethora of individual components (available on a separate Minus album). Juxtaposing the likes of Jimmy Edgar and Jan Jelinek, Circlesquare and Gaiser adds interesting twists to the mix.
