Born and raised in Cuba, Eric Estornel has always been around music. Although a talented dancer, he was more fascinated with the art of musical composition and began experimenting with different acoustic and electronic instruments. By 1995 Eric was already a known and respected young DJ in Dallas, when he turned to the production end of things, collecting and toying with different cheap synthesizers and drum machines. Producing advanced techno (as Maetrik) and electro (as Mariel Ito) has gained him the respect of DJs, artists, and music enthusiasts around the world. His discography shows his production versatility and his always evolving electronic sound.

Ellen Allien, A Guy Called Gerald, Historia y Violencia
Whoever predicted techno to be a passing fad some 20 years ago couldn't have been much further from the truth. The demand for straight kickdrums and synthetic basslines is as high as ever, and techno music continues to develop in ways no one could have more...

Awesome three-tracker by Eric Estornel, who pulls all registers of advanced production techniques for 'So Real'. Nicely processed vocals, drowsy dub-chords, tense rhythms and foreboding soundscapes are the building block of his delicate arrangements. This is what techno 2010 should sound like.
