Born in 1978, Lucien Nicolet started out as a DJ in 1993 promoting numerous clubs in Santiago de Chile alongside many innovators of the Latin American electronic music scene such as Señor Coconut (a.k.a. Atom Heart), Ricardo Villalobos or Dandy Jack. In 2000 he moved to Switzerland, releasing his music on Mental Groove, Klang Elektronik and Peacefrog, either as Luciano or as twin alter ego Lucien-N-Luciano. In 2003 he founded his own label Cadenza Records, quickly rising to the very top of the international DJ and production scene with his genre defining 'microhouse': minimalistic grooves with plenty of basslines and shuffling percussions, reminding the listener of his Latin American origins.
