One of the world's most prominent electronic music artists, Laurent Garnier has come a long way since his early days in the late 80s, when he started DJing American house music in Manchester's underground clubs such as the Haçienda. Upon his return to Paris in the early 90s Garnier became associated with the FNAC Music Dance Division label, for which he recorded classics like his 'A Bout de Souffle EP', and which was eventually superseded by F Communications, the seminal label he started in 1994 together with ex-FNAC employee Eric Morand. Over the years Garnier has achieved superstar status, both as a producer of versatile albums as well as a DJ, whose long sets famously incorporate many diverse musical styles. In 2005 Garnier published 'Electroshock', a book covering the history of techno throughout the (then) 15 years of his astonishing career.
