Running Back is a deep house label run by Gerd Janson (a.k.a. Kool DJ Pink Alert), operating out of Darmstadt, Germany. Its first eight releases might have appeared over a span of five years, but with artists like Radio Slave, Tensnake and Lil Tony, Running Back has since picked up the pace, and brilliantly combines an interest in old-school house with contemporary sounds.

Taken from Phillip Lauer's excellent recent solo debut LP, 'Tentatious' gets spruced up by US duo Jacques Renault and Marcos Cabral aka Runaway who inject a mischievous energy into the original nonchalant groove, I:Cube augments with twinkling synths. Plus, two prime new cuts from Lauer highly recommendable.
