Back in 1993, Kruder & Dorfmeister managed to set the musical world ablaze with their 'G-Stoned' debut: consisting of only four tracks, the release blended live jazz with hip hop breaks, and it is safe to assume that the EP's memorable packaging - a clever imitation of Simon & Garfunkle's 'Bookends' cover - contributed significantly to its enormous popularity. The ground-breaking collaboration of the two producers ended shortly after the EP's release for never publicised reasons. A collection of remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode and Bomb the Bass was published by !K7 in 1998 as the project's legacy. Both producers however enjoyed successful careers in the years to follow: Richard Dorfmeister founded Tosca together with Rupert Huber, Peace Orchestra, and their label G-Stone Recordings remained a major player in the field.
