Kode9 Kode9 Kode9 Music Producer (MP3 Downloads) Artist
Dubstep pioneer, label owner, sound theorist - Steve Goodman, better known as Kode9, has become one of the most prominent figures in electronic music since starting his Hyperdub label in 2004. His own productions as Kode9, alongside those of fellow Hyperdub artist Burial, are widely recognized for their genre-defining approach to the dubstep style, pioneering extreme reductionism ('Sine Of The Dub') or the use of funky house elements ('Bad'). A media theorist and university lecturer in civil life, Goodman has further published a book on the relationship of sound and military practice, called 'Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect & The Ecology Of Fear', published by MIT Press in 2009.

Kode9 calls in a favour from his good friends, who happen to be two of dance music's hottest producers, to remix his 'You Don't Wash', taken off his recent DJ-Kicks mix. Martyn's 'Scrub Vocal' and Actress' 'Negril Mix Dub' are pretty much as perfect a pair of remixes that you'll find - highly Recommended!

Kode9 continues his recent explorations of funky house with this exclusive single for K7!. Save the echoing rave sirens, Spaceape's vocals, and its slightly stumbling groove, 'You Don't Wash' could easily pass as a German deep house production - albeit a very good one!
