Together with Juan Atkins ('The Originator') and Derrick May ('The Innovator'), Kevin Saunderson ('The Elevator') is widely regarded as one of the three most influential figures in the first wave of Detroit techno. His mid to late 80s productions as Reese (derived from his middle name Maurice) and Inner City (with vocalist Paris Grey) have not only been stylistic milestones for the genre, but also introduced techno to a worldwide audience through chart hits like 'Big Fun' or 'Good Life'. Through his personal label KMS, Saunderson has not only pioneered Detroit techno, but also vocal house and even early hardcore with his E-Dancer project. The current 'History Elevate' series has world class artists pay tribute to the legendary producer via remixes of his original tracks.
