Cheap Records was founded by Patrick Pulsinger and Erdem Tunakan in the early 90s and quickly became a hotbed for Vienna's techno scene with releases by iO, Sluts'n'Strings & 909 and international artists such as Robert Hood or Mika Vainio. During the 90s Cheap became known to pioneer the use of jazz influences in electronic music with releases by B Recordings, August Engkilde or the Showroom Recordings Series.

Constructed of minimalistic distorted drum patterns in true Mika Vaino fashion, 'Keimola' surprises as an abstract, yet groovy techno EP, more direct and danceable than many of Vainio's other productions. Kentolevi is an anagram of Vaino's Tekonivel pseudonym, but another fitting one would be 'Evil Tekno'... Heavily recommended.
