Scuba's Hotflush label is one of the imprints which have been pioneering the dubstep style since the early days. It has always had a wider agenda however, reaching out across genres to include UK garage, breakstep and (more recently) techno in its catalogue.

Truncating his name from Joy Orbison, Joy O's output still hasn't dropped a notch. 'Wade In' is a brilliantly agile percussive workout, inflected with bright house stabs while 'Jels' is its darker counterpart, drifting vocals teamed with a dutty bassline on a slow build. Excellent. |
