For everyone who has been around in the early 1990s, the Harthouse name will forever be synonymous with the golden days of Frankfurt techno, and despite an eventful history of ups and downs, Harthouse is still around, setting standards in its field of minimalistic, big room techno productions. Originally founded in 1991 by Heinz Roth, Matthias Hoffmann and Sven Väth, Harthouse quickly be came one of the defining labels of its era, but things took a turn for the worse in 1997, when Hoffmann and Väth left the label and Harthouse moved to Berlin. The label became insolvent the same year and was sold to the Under Cover Music Group (UCMG), with Hardfloor's Oliver Bondzio stepping in as A&R. UCMG however declared bankrupcy in 2003 and Harthouse changed hands once again, with the Daredo Music Group becoming its new owner. Today Harthouse is located in Mannheim and with triple-A artists on its roster, like Deepgroove & Jamie Anderson, Joey Beltram, or Alexi Delano, the label is refreshing the memories of its glorious past.
