With influences running the gamut from Aphex Twin to Stevie Wonder, Joakim Bouaziz (or Jimi Bazzouka as his Myspace page would have you call him) is the man behind 2007's instant cult classic album 'Monsters & Silly Songs,' a funky mix of disco, post-punk and pop. Having remixed everyone from Simian Mobile Disco to Röyksopp, Joakim spent years behind the scenes at Tigersushi, the iconic Parisian label that teeters between post-punk, dance music and the avant-garde, honing the skills that would eventually help him produce his eclectic mix of electro pop. His latest offering 'Milky Ways' does not disappoint. Over the course of the 51 minute trip through electronic psychedelia, Joakim and his band touch on genres from the blues, new-wave and pop, to old school computer electro blips and beeps, creating a truly unique listening experience, and is an album that both builds upon his previous work without isolating itself.

Joakim, man-behind-the-scenes at Tigersushi, releases the title track of his upcoming fourth album 'Forever Young'. Tender vocals leading a lovingly produced dreamy pop track, with two fine remixes from label artists Discodeine and DyE, the latter a housier take with full-on summer vibes. Nice.
