Influenced by the likes of Larry Heard and Lil' Louis, Michel Baumann started his releasing his own brand of house music during the mid 90s under the names of Jackmate and Soulphiction, two pseudonyms he entertains to this day. He also has his hands in the operations of the excellent Philpot and Phil e labels.
