Instra:mental Instra:mental Instra:mental Music Producer (MP3 Downloads) Artist
Alex Green and Damon Kirkham are the London-based duo behind Instra:mental, one of the freshest and most unique electronic music acts to come out of the city in recent history. Handling dubstep as well as two step & grime production duties, Instra:mental's sound focusses on the magic that happens when the bass and the deep thud of the kick drum, nicely decorated with roomy, distant percussion and super processed vocals, come together. The sound is at once recognizable for its homage to Detroit techno and electro as well as jungle textures, however, very different as a whole which is precisely what has people taking notice. Leave It All Behind on their 'Forbidden' single nicely showcases what Instra:mental does so well. The duo have their own label Nonplus Records, as well as their own Autonomic podcast, which has become a big hit. The show fuses 80s hip hop, techno, and neo-junglist beats.
