The London-based imprint foremost responsible for breaking dubstep to a mainstream audience, Hyperdub was started by Steve Goodman, better known as Kode9, first as an internet blog and in 2004 as a record label. Artists contributing to Hyperdub soon included Kevin Martin a.k.a. The Bug and Burial, whose 2006 self-titled debut album and its follow-up 'Untrue' became two of the most successful productions for the label and the dubstep genre as a whole, with 'Untrue' netting Burial a Mercury Prize nomination in 2008. Hyperdub meanwhile continues its mission to innovate the subbass driven 2-Step style, providing a platform for exciting new artists, most recently people like Cooly G, Ikonika, Joker and Zomby.
