Berlin's Monika Enterprise is run by Gudrun Gut, who was an early member of the Einstürzende Neubauten and famously founded the 80s new wave band Malaria. The label's musical policy eschews both the mindless repetition of corporate club culture and the stereotypes of indie music. Monika Enterprise also manages to release music from a roster mainly consisting of female artists.
