Nottingham's Kamal Joory started producing music in the early nineties, adapting the Geiom moniker for his recordings on seminal labels Neo Ouija and Skam. Influenced by IDM, film soundtracks, dub reggae and Indian music, Geiom encountered dubstep around 2004. He subsequently dedicated his productions to the style, founding his own prolific label Berkane Sol in the process.
