Karloff Rekordings was launched in Cologne, Germany by Falko Brocksieper and Michaela Grobelny (aka Mia) in early 2003, as a subdivision of their mainstay Sub Static Records. The approach is to propose new and venturous ideas of something that came to be classified as 'minimal house', a term that mostly fails to represent the advanced artistic developments and wide cultural qualities happening in this branch of electronic music. In times of over-easy production techniques and unified sound aesthetics the aspiration of Karloff Rekordings is to promote tracks and artists that contribute to the vision of keeping music interesting, neglecting to follow any given consensus of sound. Karloff tracks are danceable, yet consider this as a vague syntax, rather than the main focus.
