Michael Fakesch's and Chris De Luca's project Funkstörung has had a major influence on the development of electronic music, starting out with straight acid techno, but increasingly shifting their style towards electro and IDM, involving complex beat-editing techniques. Their first records appeared on Bunker's legendary sub-label Acid Planet, followed by releases on Fakesch's own label Musik aus Strom as well as Compost Records and !K7. Despite their remarkable history and increasing demand for their remixing skills by the likes of Bjork, the Wu-Tang Clan, A Guy Called Gerald or Jean-Michelle Jarre, Funkstörung officially disbanded in 2006 after recording their old-school tribute album 'The Return To The Acid Planet'. Michael Fakesch is currently recording funk and soul influenced electronica for the !K7 label, while Chris De Luca has teamed up with Shitkatapult's Phon.o to explore bass-heavy grime and Baltimore-influenced broken beats.
