Dave Sumner a.k.a. Function has been part of New York's underground techno scene for over 15 years. Drwan to techno when Jeff Mills took up residency in Manhattan's Limelight club, Sumner started producing, first for Damon Wild's Synewave imprint, later for his own label, Infrastructure. Since 2006 Function is part of the Sandwell District family of artists and has gone from strength to strength ever since. His bleepy, echoing, Sähko-esque techno style has netted him remix jobs for Miss Kittin, Terrence Fixmer, Ben Klock and Plus 8, and a collaboration with Jerome Sydenham has recently appeared on Chris Liebing's CLR imprint. Dave Sumner currently lives in Berlin.
