Great nephew of Alice Coltrane, Flying Lotus started out recording for seminal LA label Plug Research, where his debut '1983' appeared in 2006. Recording abstract electronic hip hop in the style of Madlib, Jay Dilla or Plug Research labelmates Headset and AmmonContact, Flying Lotus recently signed to Warp Records, releasing his 2008 album 'Los Angeles' to universal acclaim.
